Summary The Company is a privately held, financially sound, tier 1 supplier of precision machined components looking for an individual to take its plant operation to a World Class level of performance.  The successful candidate will have a proven record of turning good running operations into World Class performers.  If you have this demonstrated track record and are interested in a highly rewarding position, we would like to talk to you.  For the right individual, the owner will offer an outstanding compensation package including a potentially lucrative deferred compensation equity plan.
The Position of Vice President of Operations reports to the Owner of the company, and will supervise 5 direct reports (Production Control / HR Manager, Quality Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Maintenance Manager, and Engineering Manager) and oversee a non-union workforce. The position is open because the incumbent is retiring.

The Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:   
  • Achieving World Class performance in all areas of the plant including but not limited to safety, quality, cost and delivery.
  • Developing and implementing policies, processes, and procedures in all areas of the operation that will be the foundation for World Class performance.
  • Developing a leadership team that will achieve World Class levels of performance.
  • Ensuring a high level of accountability in all areas of the plant.
  • Ensuring that the values of the Company are upheld at all times
Education & Qualifications of The Ideal Candidate
  • A proven record of achieving World Class performance at the Plant Manager level
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, M.B.A. a plus.
  • Trained or certified in Lean Manufacturing.  Six Sigma Black Belt and/or Master Black Belt big pluses.
  • Extensive background in CNC machining and demonstrated performance in utilizing cost effective technology solutions to meet customer cost targets while achieving required company profitability objectives.
  • Demonstrated creative problem-solving ability.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and decision-making ability.
  • Ability to foster and motivate a team environment, drive results, and delegate authority to subordinate personnel.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, Power Point and Access.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with major OEM’s and suppliers.
