We're looking for a talented manufacturing professional (Industrial Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Product Engineer, Project Engineer, etc.) with project management experience, who is ready to take that next step into a Project Manager role

This position is with the flagship division of an industry leading, Fortune 250 company, that is experiencing significant growth.  It is open due to a promotion, and oversee projects of varying scope and size, at the company's premiere manufacturing location. 

Responsibilities include:
  • Create project charter, baseline plan, and other project management components; ensuring accuracy of cost basis and/or pricing by evaluating resource requirements, and performing risk analysis.
  • Plan tasks in conjunction with established project and contractual goals and objectives.
  • Propose recommendations for changes and executes project charter for defined area of responsibility.
  • Identify and address critical issues and leads the development of action plans to improve project performance (e.g. scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, etc.).
  • Ensure process compliance across the project team and facilitate/ensure effective product/technology gate reviews.
  • Communicate project status to Division staff, management, and customer through project/program reviews and elevate issues as required.
  • Identify ways to improve project productivity and/or implementation of appropriate project management methodologies.
  • Determine and negotiate resource allocations with functional managers and monitor/maintain budgetary controls.
  • Monitor and assess baseline budget and integrated schedule performance in coordination with related team members or functional management.

  • 4-year degree in Engineering, Business, or related field required. Advanced degree a plus.
  • 5+ years of related manufacturing industry experience, including leading projects of varying complexity and scope.
  • Formal project management training and/or certification (PMP or CAPM) a plus.
  • Prior cross-functional and business experience with technical customers, products, and processes.
  • Proven working knowledge of the Project Management five-stage process.
  • Knowledge of/proficiency with project management tools such as: scheduling, cost management, change control, time management, scope and resources, work breakdown structures, and risk management.
  • Ability to communicate and serve as the customer advocate to fulfill requirements; provide assistance to resolve problems encountered by the project team.
  • Effective use of interpersonal and presentation skills and negotiation principles with varied audiences.
  • Proficiency with cost breakdowns, risk analysis, budget, etc. Experience with cost, contract terms and conditions, and profit decisions a plus.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory compliance and industry practices (to safeguard the company’s competitive information and intellectual property).
  • Ability to support and develop the project team through training and individual coaching.
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification(s) a plus.
