Our client is seeking Steel/Aluminum Flat Products Proposal Engineers who shall perform duties to support all activities of the Flat Products – Services USA group. The engineer shall work with minimum direction. 

The Engineer shall perform ‘advisory’ services for both inside and outside clients.
  • Able to research drawings (AutoCAD or Pro E) and other data to help resolve customer problems or questions
  • Familiarity with Flat Products Steel Mill Equipment
  • Services rendered will maintain the design criteria established by design engineers.
  • Changes to equipment shall be discussed with management, prior to suggesting any changes.
  • Control the work site to assure safety and final objectives.
  • Work within usual/customary MS Office software; i.e. Excel, Word, Project Management, Publisher, (etc) to perform assignments, filing and archiving of work.
  • Planning:  Evaluate site information, or distributed information and develop respective drawings and data.
  • Create proposal of solutions for clients.
  • Maintain records of work.

Knowledge and Skills and Abilities required
  • Solid technical knowledge and experience
  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineer degree
  • Able to solve most technical issues with minimum direction
  • Able to communicate technical issues effectively to customers
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Experienced at dealing with multiple activates with minimum direction
  • Abide to OSHA Safety Standards
Work Context- Physical Demands
  • Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, carry, finger, grasp, feel, talk to communicate, speak over public address system, hear, and  be able to lift 25 lbs
  • Subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions. Exposed to elevated noise levels and extreme heat and cold.  Physical hazards - Close proximity to moving parts, hot surfaces, pinch points, sparks, sharp edges, high pressure air, oxygen and gas lines.
  • Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally 30-50%.
