Seeking an experienced Technical Buyer to join a growing manufacturer in South Bend!
Chosen candidate will be responsible for purchasing quality goods and services in an economical and efficient manner.
Responsibilities:
Acquire competitive quotes to assure best overall satisfaction for company
Work with closely with other departments to achieve company goals
Help manage the Quality Supplier Management System
Assist with new supplier development
Issue P.O.'s for off the shelf materials released by Engineering
Ensure on-time delivery of materials ordered
Manage inventory transactions
Arrange for movement of material from warehouse to production floor
Resolve pricing and receiving issues with P.O.'s
Ensure compliance with industry standards, including ISO, AS9100, etc.
Mentor & develop other team members
Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
Requirements: Candidates must have prior experience purchasing machined parts, with the ability to read blueprints and purchase parts per blueprints. Must have experience working closely with Engineers and Project Managers.
Prefer a Bachelor degree in Business or Engineering, or years of equivalent purchasing experience. Prefer supervisory or management experience. Must have excellent communication skills, good computer & typing skills (MS Office 2007),
ability to multi-task with great attention to detail. Knowledge of ERP systems and M2M a plus!
