The people hired for these two positions should have a Bachelors degree and will require knowledge of applicable systems (MRP and ERP) and procedures. Prepares and enters purchase orders through the purchasing system. Prepares and files all purchasing related documentation. Reviews opportunities for new supply sources and suitability of materials offered. Responsible for purchase of all MRO materials for Shelbyville and Indiana.
Will be responsible for purchase of all MRO materials for Ky and Indiana plants; interact with internal and external contacts, interview both current and prospective vendors to insure the use of reliable and competitive sources of supply obtaining competitive quotes to fulfill requirements; compare and negotiates prices, freight cost, specifications, and delivery dates to insure best possible value; review requisitions and verifies appropriate usage, approval, and includes required information; manages suppliers as required, including resolution of quality, delivery, invoicing, and quantity issues as required; expedites and follows up on problems involving purchase of products for which this position is responsible; advise Purchasing Manager of market conditions and changes of market conditions in assigned areas of purchase; travel to ts vendor sites when necessary; responsible for inventory of all office supplies and ordering, maintains contracts and service contact for office equipment; follow purchasing department procedures and work instructions, i.e. certificate of insurance forms, vendor book of correspondence, and supplier questionnaire; responsible for items as assigned by the Purchasing Manager, which may include packaging, tool room, electrical and maintenance materials and supplies; performs administrative tasks: Tax exemption forms, shipping papers, filing, copying.
